On 31 March 2025 Big Technologies announced that it had dismissed founder and CEO Sara Murray, terminated her employment and removed her as a director with immediate effect. The same announcement disclosed that the company had commenced proceedings in the High Court.
The 31 March 2025 announcement (RNS 0042D) also provided an update on the timing of the company's full-year results. The company had earlier, on 21 March 2025, updated its litigation position.
What Big Technologies alleged
The summary below describes allegations made by the company in regulatory announcements. They are denied and have not been determined by a court.
The detailed allegations were set out principally in the company's 12 September 2025 litigation update (RNS 0481Z). In that announcement, Big Technologies alleged, among other things, that:
- Sara Murray had failed to disclose certain interests or relationships affecting the stated extent of her interest in the company at the time of its AIM admission;
- untrue information had been provided to the company, its lawyers and in statements filed with the court;
- more than £19 million had been improperly diverted or extracted from the company or its group companies to Murray or connected persons;
- certain documents, including purported Buddi board minutes and emails, had been forged or deliberately falsified.

Where the matter stands
Sara Murray has publicly denied the allegations against her and has been reported as describing them as "outrageous". On 14 September 2026 Big Technologies announced that mediated discussions with Murray had ended and that it would continue litigation absent meaningful settlement discussions. The proceedings remain ongoing. Nothing on this page should be read as a finding that any allegation is true.
